Exactly fifty years ago William Gibson’s now classic play, “The Miracle Worker,” opened on Broadway and “became one of the most electrifying theatrical events” of the year, going on to win six Tony awards, theatre’s equivalent of the Oscars. Telling the now world renowned story of teacher Annie Sullivan’s struggle to open the mind of six year old Helen Keller, blind and deaf since infancy, “The Miracle Worker” is an inspiring real life portrait of a very determined young teacher and her equally exceptional student, as well as an enthralling night of theatre.
